Custom Work Lights. Your Spec. Our Certifications.

For utilities, rescue teams, military & LE, OEM brands, and government procurement.

DAYATECH manufactures the standard lineup — 363B, 368, 363Z, 363D — that you see on the store. We also build custom work lights for teams that need specifications the standard line does not cover: a different lumen class, a dedicated battery platform, a custom IP rating, a private label for resale, or a form factor that exists only in a drawing.

Nine independent certifications carry over to custom projects. Nine German utility patents form the mechanical base. MOQ starts lower than most OEM shops will quote. Send us the spec — we will send back a feasibility read within 3 business days.

Why Custom with DAYATECH

Nine Certifications You Can Carry Over

DAYATECH's cETLus, ETL, FCC Part 15, LM-79, LM-80, and VOC certifications are held at the component and design-platform level — which means custom projects based on our mechanical platforms can retest under the same standards with substantially lower certification cost than starting from a blank fixture. For OEM brands that need listed product in 12–16 weeks instead of 40, this is the path. See full certification list.

Nine German Utility Patents as the Design Base

The folding hinge geometry, the universal battery adapter, the zoomable optic stack, and the thermal routing that enables high-output IP65 operation are all protected under nine German utility patents held by DAYATECH. Custom projects that license these platforms inherit proven mechanical IP — you are not inventing a hinge from scratch or funding a third-party's patent workaround.

Lower MOQ Than Most OEM Shops

Typical OEM minimum order quantities in the work light category start at 2,000–5,000 units. DAYATECH custom projects open at 500 units for label-and-packaging variations and 1,000–2,000 units for mechanical changes, depending on scope. For government and military contracts with smaller batch sizes, we quote on a project basis.

Typical Project Types

Utility & Power Company Fleets

Linemen and distribution crews need rugged, high-output lights that run on the battery platforms already in the truck. Typical custom scope: dedicated battery lock (one brand), safety color enclosure, fleet-asset labeling, cETLus and FCC retention. Certifications matter because most utilities require listed fixtures on site.

Search-and-Rescue / EMS Kits

SAR teams need lights that survive mud, water, cold, and drop from the back of a truck bed. Typical custom scope: sealed platform with high IP rating, high-CRI LED for injury triage, red/white dual-mode, MOLLE/strap compatibility, impact rating. VOC compliance matters for indoor-deployed units in confined-space rescue.

Military & Law Enforcement

Tactical units need dimmable, low-signature, color-switchable light with controlled beam spill. Typical custom scope: IR-filterable optic, red/green/white/blue mode, silent switching, OD green or black enclosure, MIL-STD environmental qualification. FCC Part 15 retention matters for radio-dense environments.

OEM & Private Label Brands

Tool brands, hardware retailers, and specialty distributors who want a professional work light in their catalog without investing in the design. Typical custom scope: existing DAYATECH platform with partner logo, packaging, manual, and a region-specific certification set (CE/RoHS for EU, FCC/UL for US, PSE for Japan). MOQ and lead time favorable for label-level customization.

How It Works

  1. Submit the form below. Tell us what the product has to do, who it's for, how many units, and when you need it. Drawings and reference photos are welcome but optional — we can start with a written brief.
  2. Feasibility read within 3 business days. You get a short email: is the project feasible, which DAYATECH platform it would build from, and a rough price and lead-time range.
  3. NDA if needed. Standard mutual NDA available on request before detailed spec exchange.
  4. Formal quotation. Fixed price, detailed DFM notes, certification plan, prototype fee, and production pricing at your target volumes.
  5. Prototype / golden sample. Paid tooling or sample fee (credited against first PO for qualifying projects). Sample shipped for field verification.
  6. Pilot and production. Pilot run for final validation, then production on your PO schedule.

No pressure, no lock-in. You can exit the process at any phase; all IP you bring stays yours.

Submit Your Custom Request

Fill out the form below. The more specific you are, the tighter the first response. “12,000 lm flood, Milwaukee M18 dedicated, 2,500 units, delivery Q3” gets a better read than “we need work lights.”

If your project is confidential, say so in the Key Requirements field — we will send an NDA first and details after. Drawings, spec sheets, or reference photos can follow by email after initial contact.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the typical minimum order quantity?

For label-and-packaging variations on existing SKUs: 500 units. For mechanical changes on an existing platform: 1,000–2,000 units. For new mechanical development: quoted per project. Government and military single-batch contracts are quoted separately without a standard MOQ.

What is the typical lead time?

For label/packaging customization of an existing SKU: 4–6 weeks from approved artwork. For mechanical variants on an existing platform: 10–14 weeks including prototype. For new mechanical development: 16–24 weeks. These include our internal certification retest where required.

Are there sample or tooling fees?

Yes. Prototype fees range from $500 for simple label/color variants to low five figures for new tooling. For qualifying projects (volume over our minimum tier), prototype fees are credited toward the first production PO.

Can you re-certify under our brand?

In most cases yes. cETLus, ETL, FCC, LM-79 retest under a different brand name on the same mechanical platform is a standard path. Timeline adds 4–8 weeks to the project. Certification cost is quoted separately and passes through at lab cost plus a documented handling fee.

Will you sign an NDA?

Yes, a mutual NDA is standard. You can request ours or send yours; we typically sign within 2 business days after redline.

What payment terms do you offer?

New customers: 30% deposit at PO, 70% against shipping documents. For government contracts and established repeat customers, NET 30 or NET 60 available on approval. We accept wire, ACH, and letter of credit on volume orders.

Can you manufacture to our specific certification requirement (DLC, CE, PSE, BIS)?

DLC for US commercial rebate markets: yes, on SKUs with LM-79 and LM-80 data that qualify for DLC product types. CE/RoHS/REACH for EU: yes, standard path. PSE for Japan, BIS for India, SONCAP for Nigeria: available as regional certification add-ons with lead-time impact.

Do you handle logistics and duties for export?

We quote EXW (ex-works), FOB, or DDP at your option. DDP (we handle duties and destination clearance) is available for most routes but adds to the quote.
