A warranty is a contract. DAYATECH writes this one in plain language so there is no argument later.

This page lists exactly what is covered, what is not, how long coverage lasts, and how to file a claim. If you read the SKU-specific notes below, you will know everything you need to know before you buy.

Proof of purchase (order number or dated invoice) is required for every claim.

What the Warranty Covers

The DAYATECH limited warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal professional use. Specifically:

  • LED chip failure (sudden dark output, flickering not caused by driver fault)
  • Driver electronics failure (no output with confirmed-good battery)
  • Battery adapter mechanical failure (contact damage, latch failure under normal use)
  • Hinge and folding mechanism failure under rated load
  • Enclosure cracking not caused by impact
  • Switch and control failures under rated operating cycles

Replacement is the standard remedy. Where replacement is not available (discontinued SKU), DAYATECH issues a credit toward a current model of equivalent lumen class.

What the Warranty Does Not Cover

The warranty does not cover:

  • Damage from impact, drop, crush, or vehicle weight
  • Damage from water or chemical exposure beyond the fixture's rated IP level (only DY-363D carries IP65; other SKUs use Any-Job Build construction and are not rated for submersion or direct spray)
  • Damage from use with third-party batteries outside the listed compatibility (DeWalt, Milwaukee, Makita, Bosch)
  • Damage caused by modified or counterfeit batteries
  • Cosmetic wear (scratches, scuffs, paint wear)
  • Loss or theft
  • Normal consumable wear (hinge spring fatigue after rated cycles, O-ring aging on DY-363D)
  • Damage from unauthorized repair or disassembly

How to File a Claim

  1. Gather: Order number, photos of the issue, short description of what happened.
  2. Submit: Email service@dayatechlight.com OR use the Support form.
  3. Review: DAYATECH responds within 2 business days. For electrical failures we may request a short video showing the symptom with a verified battery.
  4. Ship: If the claim is approved and return is required, DAYATECH issues a prepaid return label for US and CA addresses. International see below.
  5. Resolution: Replacement or equivalent credit, processed within 7 business days of receipt.

No claim is denied for paperwork reasons if the order number can be verified on our end.

SKU-Specific Notes

DY-363B Wireless Folding Light

4,000 lm wireless folding light. Warranty covers adapter for all four listed battery platforms; damage from non-listed platforms voids adapter coverage only (body coverage remains).

DY-368 Tripod Dual Head Light

12,000 lm tripod dual head. Tripod leg locking mechanism covered under normal field extension/retraction cycles; impact damage not covered.

DY-363Z Zoomable Work Light

3,000 lm zoomable light. Zoom mechanism covered under rated cycles; sand/grit intrusion into the zoom track is not a warranty event (clean per care instructions).

DY-363D Waterproof Folding Light

7,000 lm waterproof folding light. IP65 rating covered at time of delivery; rating may degrade after physical damage to seals or the hinge. Warranty covers seal defects but not post-impact leakage.

International Warranty

DAYATECH ships to US, CA, UK, EU, AU, and NZ. Warranty terms are identical across supported regions. For international warranty claims, return shipping is customer-paid; DAYATECH covers the replacement outbound leg. For territories not on the supported list, contact support before purchase.

How long is the DAYATECH warranty?

Two years from the delivery date on your tracking record. Same term applies to all four SKUs.

Do I need the original packaging to file a claim?

No. Order number and photos of the issue are enough. Original packaging is helpful but not required.

Does the warranty transfer if I sell the light?

The warranty is tied to the original purchaser and order number. Secondhand transfers are not covered.

How long does warranty processing take?

We respond within 2 business days of your claim submission. Resolution is processed within 7 business days of receiving the returned unit.
