Frequently Asked Questions
01 · BRAND & COMPANY
Brand & Company
Why DAYATECH over established brands like Milwaukee or DeWalt?
DAYATECH is the only work light brand engineered for universal battery compatibility — one light runs on the four premium cordless platforms — DeWalt 20V MAX, Milwaukee M18, Makita LXT 18V, and Bosch 18V — without adapters.
Milwaukee and DeWalt build excellent tools, but their work lights only run on their own batteries. If your crew uses mixed platforms — or if you want to stop buying a new battery every time you buy a new tool — DAYATECH solves that specific problem.
DAYATECH backs it with 9 independent third-party certifications and a German utility patent — credentials most lighting brands don't publish.
Where are DAYATECH products made and tested?
DAYATECH products are built to meet North American (cETLus, FCC) safety and emissions requirements, with additional testing and documentation handled through accredited third-party laboratories where applicable.
For current product evidence, use the Certifications page, the product specification pages, and Support. DAYATECH publishes real test documentation where available instead of relying on badge-only claims.
What is DAYATECH's warranty policy?
All DAYATECH work lights carry a 2-year manufacturer warranty against defects in materials and workmanship, covering the LED modules, driver electronics, battery interface, and housing.
For current coverage terms, exclusions, and claim steps, refer to the Warranty page before purchase or registration.
What is your return policy?
30-day no-questions-asked returns on all orders purchased directly from dayatechpro.com. Products must be in resalable condition with original packaging.
DAYATECH covers return shipping for defective items; the customer covers return shipping for preference-based returns. Refunds are processed within 5 business days of receipt.
How fast do you ship, and where do you ship to?
DAYATECH ships from the US, with free ground shipping across the contiguous United States on qualifying orders. Delivery speed depends on destination, carrier service, and the option selected at checkout.
For the current shipping regions, transit expectations, and policy details, review the Shipping page or request a quote for larger B2B orders.
02 · BATTERY COMPATIBILITY
Battery Compatibility
Which battery brands work with DAYATECH lights?
All 18V–20V MAX Li-ion packs from the four premium professional platforms work without any adapter:
| Brand | Battery Platform |
|---|---|
| DeWalt | 20V MAX |
| Milwaukee | M18 |
| Makita | LXT 18V |
| Bosch | 18V CORE / Professional |
12V and 40V packs from any brand are not compatible — the light is engineered for the 18V–20V MAX class. Check the voltage label on your battery before purchasing.
Does using DAYATECH shorten my battery's lifespan?
No — DAYATECH lights are engineered to extend battery life, not shorten it. The VoltShield™ low-voltage protection circuit monitors pack voltage every 500ms and automatically shuts the light off before the cells drop below 2.65V — the threshold where permanent lithium-ion damage begins.
Most cheap work lights drain batteries to 1.8V or lower, which destroys $100+ battery packs after 20–30 cycles. With VoltShield™, your batteries can survive hundreds of cycles instead of dozens.
How do I charge a DAYATECH work light?
You don't charge the light itself — you charge the battery using your existing tool-brand charger. Pop the battery off, charge it on your DeWalt / Milwaukee / Makita charger, pop it back on.
This is the whole point of platform compatibility: you use the charging infrastructure you already own. No proprietary cables, no wall-wart chargers to lose.
Can I run a DAYATECH light while my battery is charging?
No — the battery must be physically detached from the light to charge on its tool-brand charger. DAYATECH work lights do not accept AC input or USB charging by design.
This keeps the light simpler, more reliable, and compatible with any charger in your toolkit rather than forcing you to carry a DAYATECH-specific charger.
What happens if I use a partially-drained battery?
The light runs at full output until VoltShield™ detects the pack approaching its safe cut-off threshold (around 14.4V / 2.9V per cell), at which point it automatically dims 50% to extend safe runtime.
At 13.2V (2.65V per cell), the light shuts off completely and cannot be restarted until you swap in a charged pack. This prevents accidental over-discharge even if you start the job with a half-drained battery.
03 · TECHNOLOGY & SPECS
Technology & Specifications
What do UniPower™, VoltShield™, TrueBeam™, and SteadyLume™ actually mean?
These are the four core engineered technologies in every DAYATECH work light:
| Technology | What It Does |
|---|---|
| UniPower™ | Patented adapter system that makes one light work on all four premium cordless battery platforms (DeWalt, Milwaukee, Makita, Bosch) without external adapters |
| VoltShield™ | Automatic low-voltage shutoff that protects your battery from over-discharge damage (extends pack life) |
| TrueBeam™ | Constant-current driver + high-CRI LEDs + anti-glare optics — zero flicker, color-accurate light for detail work |
| SteadyLume™ | Thermal management + LED lifetime architecture guaranteeing ≥90% light output after 10,000 hours |
Each technology is backed by independent certification or test reporting (see Certifications page).
What do IP54, IP65, and IP66 ratings really mean?
IP (Ingress Protection) ratings describe how well a product resists dust and water. The first digit is dust, the second is water:
| Rating | Dust | Water | Real-World Use |
|---|---|---|---|
| IP54 | Dust-protected | Splash from any direction | Rain, jobsite weather, shop work |
| IP65 | Dust-tight | Water jets from any direction | Heavy rain, wet concrete, storm response |
| IP66 | Dust-tight | Powerful water jets | Pressure washing, fire-hose exposure |
Across the DAYATECH lineup: only the 363D Waterproof Foldable Light carries an independent IP certification — IP65, dust-tight and tested to withstand water jets from any direction, built for storm response and outdoor work in wet conditions. The 368 tripod, 363B foldable, and 363Z zoomable daily-driver models are weather-resistant and tough for any work, but DAYATECH does not publish an IP number for them — only the 363D has been submitted for IP testing.
What is CRI, and why does 80+ matter?
CRI (Color Rendering Index) measures how accurately a light source shows the true colors of objects compared to natural sunlight, on a 0–100 scale:
- CRI 60–70 — Cheap LEDs. Distorts skin tones, wire colors, paint finishes. Good enough for parking lots, bad for detail work.
- CRI 80+ — Professional baseline. Required for electrical work (wire color codes), automotive paint matching, and inspection tasks.
- CRI 90+ — Studio / medical grade. Overkill for most job sites.
All DAYATECH lights use CRI 80+ LEDs with R9 ≥ 50 (accurate red rendering). If you work with color — electrical, painting, finishing, inspection — CRI is not optional.
Are DAYATECH lights flicker-free? I get headaches from cheap LED lights.
Yes. DAYATECH's TrueBeam™ technology uses constant-current linear LED drivers instead of PWM (pulse width modulation) dimming. PWM is what causes the “flicker fatigue” most workers feel after long shifts — the LED is rapidly switching on/off hundreds of times per second, and even though your eye sees “continuous light,” your brain registers it as strain.
DAYATECH lights are measured at < 5% flicker modulation depth across all brightness levels, meeting the IEEE 1789 “no observable effect” standard. Translation: no eye strain, no headaches, even on 10-hour shifts.
How long do the LEDs actually last?
DAYATECH lights are engineered to maintain ≥90% of initial light output after 10,000 operating hours (L90 @ 10,000h). This is achieved through:
- Thermal management — aluminum heat sinks keep LED junction temperature below 85°C under full load
- Current de-rating — LEDs run at 80% of their rated max current, trading 5% peak brightness for 4× longer useful life
- LM-80 certified bins — only LED chips with documented lumen maintenance curves from the manufacturer
Cheap LEDs typically lose 30–40% output in the first 2,000 hours. The SteadyLume™ architecture is why a DAYATECH light performs the same on day 1 and day 1,000.
04 · B2B & DISTRIBUTION
B2B / Wholesale / Distribution
How do I apply for wholesale or distributor pricing?
Apply through the Dealer Application page. Three partner tiers are available based on order volume:
| Tier | Volume | Discount |
|---|---|---|
| Certified Dealer | $1,000+ per order | 5% off MSRP |
| Regional Partner | $5,000+ per order | 10% off MSRP |
| Master Distributor | $15,000+ annual commitment | 20% off MSRP |
Approval typically takes 3–5 business days. Master Distributor applicants receive a call from the sales team to discuss exclusivity, territory, and marketing co-op.
What is the minimum order quantity for wholesale?
There is no unit-count minimum — only a dollar-amount minimum. Certified Dealer tier starts at $1,000 per order (approximately 10–15 units depending on product mix). This lets you order the right assortment for your territory instead of being forced into bulk buys of products you can't move.
Do you ship internationally for B2B orders?
Yes. DAYATECH ships internationally for qualified B2B distributors in most markets. International orders are quoted case-by-case based on destination, volume, and compliance requirements (CE/GS required for EU markets, etc.).
All DAYATECH products already carry the certifications needed for major North American and European markets. Contact sales@dayatechpro.com with your country and target volume for a quote.
Do you offer exclusive territory agreements?
Master Distributor partners (annual commitment of $15,000+) are eligible for semi-exclusive territory agreements based on sales performance, marketing investment, and annual volume commitments.
Exclusivity is not granted automatically — it is earned through demonstrated market development. Contact sales to discuss territory terms.
Can DAYATECH products be sold on Amazon or other marketplaces by distributors?
No. DAYATECH maintains strict Minimum Advertised Price (MAP) enforcement and does not authorize third-party sellers on Amazon, Walmart Marketplace, or eBay.
Distributors are authorized to sell through physical retail channels, their own branded e-commerce sites, and direct B2B relationships only. Marketplace violations result in immediate termination of distributor status and removal from the authorized seller list. Amazon sales are managed exclusively by DAYATECH through the official brand store.
